Introducció i objectius: La fiabilitat dels tests de salt vertical és inferior en els nens que en els adults. L’objectiu del present estudi fou determinar si els tests de les nenes prepúbers que practiquen un entrenament específic de gimnàstica artística són més fiables, en diferents proves de salt vertical, que els d’un grup control de nenes de la mateixa edat.

Mètode: Participaren a l’estudi 36 nenes prepúbers (19 gimnastes i 17 del grup control) d’edats compreses entre els 7 i els 12 anys. Per estudiar la fiabilitat de la capacitat de salt «entre intents» i «entre sessions» s’utilitzaren les proves de salt següents: squat jump (SJ), counter-movement jump (CMJ), counter-movement jump with arm swing (CMJA) i drop jump (DJ). S’administraren les proves en dues ocasions, i es realitzaren tres intents en cada sessió.

Resultats: S’observaren coeficients elevats de correlació intraclasse (CCI ≥ 0,75) entre intents i entre sessions en totes les proves. Es qüestiona la fiabilitat del CMJ de les gimnastes pel fet d’haver trobat diferències significatives en la comparació entre intents i entre sessions (p ≤ 0,05).

Conclusions: Es conclou que la capacitat de salt és reproduïble i fiable des d’edat precoç, i que la pràctica de la gimnàstica artística, als nivells d’iniciació, no millora la fiabilitat de la majoria de tests de salt vertical.

Introduction and objectives: The reliability of vertical jumping tests is lower in children than in adults. The aim of this study is to determine whether prepubertal girls who practice a gymnastics-specific training are more reliable doing some vertical jumping tests than a control group of girls with matched ages.

Methods: Thirty-six prepubertal girls (19 gymnasts and 17 control), with ages ranging from 7 to 12 years, participated in the study. To study the reliability of the jumping capacity «between trials» and «between sessions» the following jumping tests were used: squat jump (SJ), countermovement jump (CMJ), countermovement jump with arm swing (CMJA), and drop jump (DJ). Test-retest was performed using 3 trials per session with a 48 h gap between sessions.

Results: A high intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC ≥ 0.75) was observed between trials and between sessions for all tests. The reliability of CMJ was questionable because significant differences were found in the inter-trial and inter-session comparison (P ≤ .05).

Conclusions: We conclude that overall vertical jumping capacity is reliable from young ages, and artistic gymnastics practice for beginners does not improve the reliability for the majority of the vertical jumping tests.
